Who is Julie?

Julie Bliss is an associate director, Communications with Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company. A native of Minnesota, but a proud member of the Wausau community for 30 years, Julie also volunteers for her parish, St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church and is a member of Greater Wausau Impact100. When not working or volunteering, you can find her trying to find her balance at a yoga class, looking forward to the next trip or digging into a book. She and husband, Jim, have two grown children, Reid and Charlotte, who they hope to lure back to Wausau some day!

Why United Way?

I said Yes to serving on The United Way board because I’m passionate about how great of a community Wausau is — helping to lift our residents to financial stability encourages others to achieve their goals and know they are valued.
