Who are Retire United members?
RU is an affinity group of United Way of Marathon County (UWMC). It includes all UWMC donors aged 55 and older who are retired or “near retired”. It was created to help maintain a relationship between these individuals and UWMC after these individuals retire and lose that workplace connection to UWMC. The mission of RU is to promote and encourage the vibrant engagement of our retired and near-retired population in efforts to support and strengthen our community.
As a member of RU, you are extremely important to UWMC. RU members constitute just 8% of all UWMC donors, but 48% of all UWMC donations! And, they comprise an important contingent of our community volunteers. Your lifetime of skills and experiences can benefit future generations, and RU can connect you with meaningful ways to stay engaged in the community through volunteerism and philanthropy.
